Hello! I am Ethan Quan, a Mechanical Engineering (B.S.) student at the Jacobs School of
Engineering and Eleanor Roosevelt College (ERC) at the University of California, San Diego.
I am concurrently pursuing a Certificate in Additive Manufacturing from UC San Diego Extension.
Additionally, I have a Regional Specialization in Europe, with German as a second language and
study abroad experience in Berlin, Germany (Summer 2022).
I am also a
Chancellor's Scholar.
I am a STEM advocate and avid engineer, primarily in rocketry, robotics, and engineering design.
My focus is in additive manufacturing and composite material design.
At UC San Diego, I'm currently on the SEDS @ UCSD's team developing their
next-generation pressure-fed methane-liquid oxygen rocket, Halya.
I have worked for on Triton Robotics' Sentry Team developing their
Sentry Robot
for the RoboMaster University League 2022 competition.
In the past at my high school, the Galileo Academy of Science and Technology, I was involved with
Galileo Robotics,
Galileo Rocketry, and the
Coalition of STEM Clubs at Galileo (CSG).
I taught concepts in engineering—specifically mechanical design, computer-aided design, machining,
and model rocketry—and helped to promote STEM activites
throughout the student body with the cooperation of the administration and student government.
In my free time, I enjoy casual photography, cooking, and spending time with friends.
